Autoflame micro-modulation controls run some of the most demanding boiler houses in the UK: hospital steam plant, process sites, large heating installations and industrial boilers running around the clock. Why Use an Autoflame Certified Engineer?
An Autoflame system is only as good as its commissioning. The controller follows the fuel/air curve the engineer sets. If that curve is set badly, it will faithfully repeat the error at every firing point, every day.
- Poor commissioning wipes out the savings. The main reason for fitting Autoflame is tight fuel/air control. Loose commissioning throws that away.
- The safety functions must be set correctly. Flame safeguard, valve proving and air proving are all handled by the controller, and they are not something to learn on the job.
- The data only matters if someone reads it. The MM and EGA log fault history, combustion data and emissions. A certified engineer knows how to use them to find faults quickly.

- Autoflame Commissioning and Retrofits: new installations, conversion of mechanical cam burners to Autoflame control, and upgrades from older Mk6 and Mk7 systems to Mk8.
- Autoflame Servicing: combustion checks against the commissioned curve, servomotor and sensor checks, and EGA maintenance.

Autoflame Equipment We Work On
- Mk8 MM controller: micro-modulating burner management with a touchscreen interface, flame safeguard, valve proving, PID control and Modbus connectivity.
- Mini Mk8: compact micro-modulation for smaller burners, controlling temperature to within 1°C and pressure to within 0.1 bar.
- Mk8 EGA EVO: an exhaust gas analyser that monitors up to six gases (O2, CO2, CO, NO, NO2 and SO2) and enables three-parameter trim on the MM.
- Legacy Mk6 Evolution and Mk7 systems, including support and upgrade paths.
- Servomotors, UV flame scanners and variable speed drives.
- Steam boiler functions: water level control, blowdown and steam flow metering.

Autoflame FAQs
Can Autoflame be fitted to my existing burner?
Most forced draught burners with a mechanical cam and linkage can be converted to Autoflame’s linkageless servomotor control. We survey the burner and boiler first and tell you whether it’s a sound investment.
Is it worth upgrading from Mk6 or Mk7 to Mk8?
Often, yes, particularly if you are struggling to get parts or want better data and BMS integration. We assess each site on its merits and won’t recommend an upgrade you don’t need.
How often should an Autoflame system be serviced?
At least once a year, alongside the burner service. Sites with an EGA, or with steam boilers running water level and blowdown controls, benefit from more frequent checks.
