Common Riello Faults We Fix

  • Lockout on start-up: ignition failure, worn electrodes, ignition transformer faults or a flame detection problem.
  • Lockout during operation: flame loss, gas pressure drop, air pressure switch faults or a failing flame sensor.
  • Electronic cam and servomotor faults: positioning errors, controller fault codes and loss of fuel/air ratio control.
  • Oil side faults (RL, RLS): failed or noisy oil pumps, blocked nozzles and filters, smoky combustion.
  • Gas train faults: failed valves, valve proving failures and regulator problems.
  • Fan and motor faults: worn bearings, noisy or failed motors, and damaged fan wheels.
  • Poor combustion: rumble, pulsation or an unstable flame, often from incorrect head settings or air leaks.
  • Condensing boiler faults (Condexa PRO, Tau N): ignition and ionisation faults, blocked condensate, sensor and control failures.

  1. Triage on the phone. We take the model, symptoms and any fault codes so the engineer arrives prepared.
  2. Diagnose on site. We find the root cause, not just the symptom.
  3. Repair. We use genuine Riello parts, fitting on the first visit where we can and sourcing quickly where we can’t.
  4. Recommission. We run a full combustion check after any repair that affects combustion or safety devices.
  5. Report. You receive written documentation of the fault, the work done and any recommendations.

Repair or Replace?

Parts for some older Riello models, including early Press series burners, are becoming harder to source. If a repair won’t make financial sense, we’ll tell you so and quote a like-for-like or upgraded replacement. That could be a current low NOx Riello model or a burner with Autoflame controls.
